To ignite curiosity and inspire the next generation of scientists, athletes, and innovators through interactive learning.About the RoleWe are looking for a hands-on and proactive Part-Time Painter/Decorator/Maintenance Assistant to help keep our venue and exhibits in top condition. You will work closely with our Head of Facilities, ensuring our facilities remain safe, clean, and fully operational for visitors.What You'll Be DoingPainting and decorating for both indoor and outdoor areas to keep the venue looking freshPrepare surfaces, including sanding, filling, and priming.Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.Work closely with the Maintenance team to plan and carry out refurbishments.Organise tools, equipment, and materialsFollow health & safety standards and ensure safe use of materials and equipment, reporting any hazards or risks.Keep accurate records of work completed and materials used.Conduct routine maintenance checks on interactive exhibits, building fixtures, public areas and general venue componentsHelp maintain a clean and safe environment for visitors and staffAssist in fire safety procedures and equipment upkeepOpen and close the venue when required in the absence of the Head of FacilitiesGrounds keeping duties, including maintaining the outdoor areas around the venueLitter picking and general upkeep of the surrounding grounds to ensure a clean and welcoming environmentWhat Makes You a Great Fit?Previous experience in painting/decorating and facility maintenance or upkeep (2 years minimum preferred)Good problem-solving skills and ability to work efficiently under pressureAwareness of health & safety regulations (including COSHH and cleaning protocols)Reliable, organised, and proactive team playerSafepass certification (preferred)Ability to commute to Blackglen Road, SandyfordPermit to work in IrelandGood communication skillsWeekend availabilityTo Apply:Send CV and cover letter to by 30th January 2026What's on offer..Part time position (Approx 15 hours per week) rostered over 7 days to include some weekendsHourly rate € €16.30 (plus 25% for Sunday working)Staff incentives and discountsExplorium is committed to a workplace environment that promotes diversity and inclusion and creates an open and inclusive culture where everyone feels valued.
