Job Description:

Now, we're looking for a Transport Manager to join our team. This role will play a key part in the overall growth of the organisation along with helping to maintain our core ethos here at Sysco - keeping the customer at the heart of everything we do.
Key Accountabilities:
* Managing/leading the transport management and distribution team
* Coordination of all transport activities ensuring the smooth running of depot
* Responsible for efficient dispatch of all routes and products to customers on a daily basis
* Coaching and motivating members of the delivery team
* Effectively liaising with sales, transport, and operation departments to resolve all issues in a timely manner
* Working with our Sales teams to ensure effective and efficient delivery schedules
* Ensuring delivery procedures and policies are adhered to at all times, equipment breakdown and repairs are minimised and reported, and the premises are maintained to the highest standards
* Responsible for ensuring all company vehicles are properly maintained, cleaned and safely operated to reduce accidents and enhance the company brand
* Manage Backhaul collections and ensure they are adhered to on a daily basis
* Managing Transport Compliance to industry leading standards
* Identify, coordinate and deliver training as appropriate
* Ensuring Security and Health & Safety Procedures are adhered to at all times
* Leading by example and applying company policy and procedures in a fair, consistent and unbiased manner
Requirements:
* 3+ years' experience in a relevant management / supervisory role in a high volume, technology driven, time sensitive multi-drop distribution operation
* Experience within the Food distribution industry is advantageous
* Must possess a full Drivers Licence, Management CPC advantageous
* Competent in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
* Proven ability to manage a team to deliver the highest standards of service
* Proven ability to be an effective decision maker with a hands-on approach to the business
* Ability to plan and organise your own and your team's work activities in a safe, efficient and effective manner
* Ability to analyse, interpret and explain and present relevant business data
* Fluent English - reading and writing
* High level of flexibility and problem solving
* Strong knowledge of the Department of Transport regulations (Tachograph legislation, Work Time Directive etc.)
* Strong knowledge of the surrounding geographical area
