Honeywell BAS Engineer 1681SimoTech has an opportunity for a Honeywell BAS Engineer to join our team, supporting our client on their state-of-the-art biotechnology manufacturing site in Cork. The successful candidate will work as part of the site engineering and automation team, supporting the operation, maintenance and enhancement of Honeywell Building Automation Systems (BAS) across critical manufacturing and utility systems.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the operation, maintenance and optimisation of Honeywell BAS/BMS systems across manufacturing and utility areas.Work closely with Facilities, Process, CQV, and Automation teams to support ongoing operations and project activities.Troubleshoot BAS issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventative actions.Configure, modify and maintain Honeywell graphics, alarms, trends, databases and control strategies.Support HVAC systems, cleanrooms, environmental monitoring and critical utilities to ensure GMP compliance.Participate in change management activities, including preparation and execution of Automation Changes.Review and update functional specifications, design documentation and as-built drawings as required.Support commissioning, qualification and validation activities associated with BAS modifications and projects.Participate in projects to upgrade existing BAS systems and controllers to newer versions.Ensure compliance with site standards, cybersecurity requirements and regulatory expectations.Key RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Sciences or equivalent.5+ years of working experience as a BAS or Automation Engineer in a highly regulated biotechnology or pharmaceutical environment.Strong experience with Honeywell BAS/BMS platforms such as EBI, Experion or similar systems.Experience supporting HVAC systems, cleanroom environments and critical utilities within GMP facilities.Knowledge of industrial communication protocols including BACnet, Modbus and Ethernet/IP is desirable.Ability to interact and communicate with other engineering and business disciplines, including Facilities and Process Engineers, to define project scopes and deliver on project specifications.Knowledge of automation compliance lifecycle, validation and change management processes.Prior commissioning and startup experience within a process plant environment is desirable.Good understanding of life sciences regulations and compliance requirements including GAMP and 21 CFR Part 11.Strong troubleshooting, interpersonal and communication skills are required, with a proven ability to communicate and build relationships cross-functionally.Good teamwork skills.
