Education & Public Engagement Officer (Fixed term Post- to 31st December, 2026) Munster Technological University is seeking an Education & Public Engagement (EPE) Officer for the HCI Pillar 3-funded project, Rethinking Engineering Education in Ireland (REEdI). This pioneering initiative has developed an agile, forward-thinking framework for the design, development, and delivery of engineering education across Ireland. Drawing inspiration from world-class models of engineering pedagogy, the REEdI project aims to revolutionise engineering education through a transformative approach, emphasising self-directed and flexible learning pathways for the engineers of tomorrow. The EPE Officer will be an integral part of the REEdI Operations Core Project Team, driving engagement and outreach efforts while collaborating closely with the Head of Department for REEdI. The role is based at MTUs Kerry Campus, Tralee, Co. Kerry and will require travel for stakeholder engagement. Qualifications & Experience An appropriate third-level qualification at NFQ level 8 or equivalent or experience relevant to the post. Requirements: Experience in Education and/or Industry Engagement activities. Project/programme coordination experience. Fluent in spoken and written English. Excellent documentation and communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with multiple stakeholders. Full clean valid driver's license and access to own transport. Desirable: A relevant Masters/PhD degree Duties: Coordinate the design and delivery of student outreach and community engagement activities for the REEdI project, with a particular focus on promoting STEM and engineering to second-level students and underrepresented groups. Coordinate a schedule of school engagement activities, including school visits, open days, and careers events, ensuring a high-quality, interactive, and inclusive experience. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including schools, teachers, guidance counsellors, parents, community organisations, and youth groups to strengthen engagement and awareness of the REEdI programme. Plan and deliver public engagement events, workshops, and promotional campaigns to showcase engineering careers and the REEdI model of education. Manage communication and dissemination activities for the project, including creating engaging content for social media, newsletters, promotional materials, and other outreach channels. Support the development of educational materials and resources for use in outreach settings, ensuring they are accessible, inclusive, and aligned with REEdIs student-centred approach. Maintain accurate records of outreach and engagement activities, including participant data, feedback, and event outcomes, for internal reporting and external funding requirements. Coordinate with academic and administrative colleagues to ensure smooth delivery of events and alignment with project milestones and institutional objectives. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of engagement initiatives and provide regular reports and recommendations to the REEdI Operations Core Project Team. Represent the REEdI project at community, regional, and national forums to promote the programme and share best practice in school and public engagement. Provide administrative and logistical support for engagement and dissemination activities, including budget tracking, scheduling, event planning, and stakeholder communications. Contribute to the overall success of the REEdI project by supporting the alignment between community engagement efforts and the strategic objectives of the project. Undertake such other appropriate duties as may be assigned from time to time by the University authorities. Salary The posts will be aligned to the salary scale of Senior Staff Officer within the University.
