What you will do
The Systems Technician will play a vital part in managing and supporting the uptime of Ireland's intelligent infrastructure.
By maintaining a sophisticated network of equipment and communication systems, this role directly supports and enhances public safety.

You will also:
Installation & Configuration: Physically install and configure ITS field devices such as CCTV cameras, variable message signs, vehicle detection sensors, and other roadside equipment.
Diagnostics & Repair: Use specialised software and hardware to troubleshoot and fix malfunctioning equipment.
Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections, test software/firmware updates, and replace aging components (e.g., solar battery banks for LED signs) to prevent system downtime.
Network Management: Install and maintain critical network components, including network switches, routers, and broadband radios, to ensure reliable data flow to traffic management centres.
Ensure adherence to ISO ***** and that all completed work aligns with all SWARCO quality and health/safety requirements.
Care for vehicles, tools, spares, and equipment to be used in the course of your duties – ensuring they are in a safe and serviceable condition.
Ensure that all PPE appropriate to the task and in line with the RAMS is being correctly worn.
What we are looking for
Understanding of IP networks and their configuration.
Experience working with fibre optic networks (OTDR/ILM testing & fusion splicing).
FETAC Level 6 Electrical Craft Certificate/National Craft Certificate.
(Electrical)
Practical experience in Electrical Engineering, Controls, and Instrumentation as a Communications Technician or similar preferably with a technical background.
Ability to work on own or as part of a team.
Experience in Public Lighting Installation and Maintenance (advantageous).
Knowledge and experience in Fault Finding.
Willingness to learn and undertake new challenges.
