My client, a family owned engineering contractor, seek to hire a Health, Safety & Environmental Officer.
This role will come with a company vehicle & will cover the West of Ireland.
Responsibilities Safety checks and inspections on all company sites, as required by the Safety Management System and laws.
Work with the SHEQ Lead and Senior Management to deal with safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) matters and help reach SHEQ goals.
Go to safety meetings and share ideas or updates.
Help create, update, and share health and safety rules, risk checks, and safe work procedures.
Write project-specific work plans.
Help look into any accidents, near misses, or unsafe situations.
Write reports, suggest fixes, and watch for repeating problems.
Lead or help with safety training and introductions for managers and employees.
Spread safety awareness through talks, posters, and safety campaigns.
Encourage everyone to report good safety actions and near misses.
Help maintain and improve the company's safety and quality certifications (Safe-T-Cert, ISO *****, ISO ****, ISO *****).
Support site teams with SHEQ paperwork and record-keeping.
Education & Qualifications Level 6 or higher qualification in Occupational Health & Safety.
A full, clean driving licence.
Basic knowledge of Safe-T-Cert, ISO ****, ISO *****, and ISO ***** systems (preferred).
At least 2 years of experience.
