Job Description Summary
This role is responsible for managing end-to-end (E2E) Operations activities related to an On-Body Injector (OBI) platform, including new product development, customizations, scale-up, cost improvement, and life-cycle management. The position works closely with cross-functional internal teams, suppliers, and customers to deliver key business objectives.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity to take ownership of end-to-end operations for an innovative On-Body Injector (OBI) platform. Working in close partnership with cross-functional stakeholders, suppliers, manufacturing partners, and customers, the successful candidate will help define and execute a robust manufacturing network strategy that ensures supply continuity, operational excellence, and cost efficiency.
This is a high-impact role with responsibility for driving cost improvement programmes, supporting R&D integration for design enhancements, and managing project budgets, resources, and capital investments. The position also provides technical leadership to resolve complex operational challenges, conduct capacity planning aligned with demand forecasts, and develop mitigation scenarios to address constraints.
Key Responsibilities
* Define, plan, and execute the manufacturing network strategy for the On-Body Injector (OBI) platform in collaboration with senior operational leadership.
* Ensure supply continuity and mitigate operational risks while maintaining cost control within agreed budgets.
* Lead cost improvement initiatives in partnership with cross-functional teams and external manufacturing partners.
* Support R&D activities by integrating product design improvements, customisations, and line extensions into manufacturing processes, providing Design for Manufacturing (DFM) input.
* Establish and manage project budgets, resource allocation, and capital investment requirements aligned to manufacturing strategy.
* Monitor and control spend against budget and forecast targets.
* Provide technical and operational leadership to resolve complex manufacturing and supply chain challenges.
* Conduct capacity planning based on demand projections to optimise production capability.
* Develop and present scenarios to address capacity constraints and maintain uninterrupted supply.
* Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing OEMs, and customers to meet business deliverables and ensure successful execution of operational plans.
Candidate Profile
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline (advanced qualifications advantageous).
* 10+ years' experience within a regulated manufacturing environment, ideally in Medical Devices or Pharmaceuticals.
* Strong background in manufacturing operations and extended supply chain management.
* Demonstrated ability to deliver results in complex, high-impact operational or transformation projects.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working across global teams.
* Strong technical aptitude, including knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies; Design for Manufacturing (DFM) experience highly desirable.
* Proven project/programme management capability with solid financial acumen and understanding of manufacturing cost structures.
