MECHANICAL DESIGN LEAD | KILKENNY/HYBRID | PERMANENT
We are looking for an experienced Design Lead to join our client's team in Kilkenny.
THE ROLE |
You will drive mechanical design projects across Ireland's water and wastewater sector. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, mentor engineers, and deliver innovative, sustainable solutions from concept to handover.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES|
6. Lead and mentor multidisciplinary design teams.
7. Manage the full design lifecycle: concept → detailed design → handover.
8. Review and approve mechanical layouts, equipment specs, and P&IDs.
9. Coordinate with clients and internal teams to deliver projects on time and budget.
10. Drive innovation and continuous improvement in our design process.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR|
11. Level 8/9 Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent).
12. 7+ years' design engineering experience, ideally in the water sector.
13. Proven team leadership and project management skills.
14. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulic design, and plant layout.
15. Experience with design software and calculations.
16. Practical site experience is a plus.
