A panel may be formed from which future similar vacancies may be filled; such a panel will remain active for a maximum period of 12 months.Basic Function:The successful candidate will be required to provide to support engagement with Teagasc researchers, advisors, farms and industry networks to maximise learning for entrepreneurial participants of a new Food and Agriculture Sustainable Technology Innovation Programme (FAST-IP).Background:The UCD and Teagasc Food and Agriculture Sustainable Technology Innovation Programme (FAST-IP), is a needs-led innovation training programme that teaches participants how to identify unmet needs in agriculture and food production environments, and develop these needs into commercially viable solutions. The programme is part of the Enterprise Ireland Technology Innovators' Initiative.To develop and deliver this new and exciting programme, Teagasc is looking to recruit an experienced Technologist to support engagement with Teagasc researchers, advisors, farms and industry networks to maximise learning for the participants.The successful candidate will provide technical support to the programme participants in the immersive environments which include all stages of the agri food supply chain from primary production (Farms), processing to the point of consumption (from farm to fork).The postholder will have the opportunity to get involved in programme development working closely with the FAST-IP Senior Programme manager based at the recently launched AgTechUCD Innovation Centre on the UCD Lyons Farm in County Kildare with frequent engagement with Teagasc Researchers and Advisors around the country..The successful candidate will be line managed via the team who proactively promote and support industry engagement, entrepreneurship and innovation between Teagasc and industry. By facilitating projects and creating opportunities for our researchers to engage, we are helping to drive economic, social and environmental impacts.The role is very varied and will provide opportunities for growth and development for the successful candidate.Job ObjectivesCo-ordinate and manage visits for participants to multiple locations across agri-food environmentsCommunicate and liaise with participants and Immersive Environment Champions with respect to health and safety and other governance proceduresSupport, document and manage requests for access for Teagasc inputs from FAST-IP Programme Directors and participants (eg. for Advisors, mentors, trainers, Specialists, Researchers, Immersive environments)Undertake quality control and follow up ensuring good data capture with respect to monitoring and evaluation of outcomes and impacts for continuous improvementSupport promotion of the programme internally and externally to TeagascSupport the organisation of events and on site visits across multiple locationsWork in collaboration with the team to ensure the best administrative practices are being followed at all times.Prepare, co-ordinate and provide summary reports on engagement as required by management and external funders. This may include coordinating monthly progress reports, reports on programme activities or end of year reports.Assist with the co-ordination and compilation of data for various reports for senior management including business plans and the annual Programme of Activities.Assist Teagasc in meeting the commitments of the Quality Customer Service Charter and Action Plan.Take responsibility for own on-going personal and professional development.Actively participate in the annual business planning and Performance Management Development System (PMDS) processes.Fully co-operate with the provisions made for ensuring the health, safety and welfare of oneself, fellow staff and non-Teagasc staff and co-operate with management in enabling Teagasc to comply with legal obligations, including full compliance with the responsibilities outlined in the Safety Statement.Carry out other duties as may be assigned from time to time.This job specification is intended as a guide to the general range of duties and is intended to be neither definitive nor restrictive.
