We have recently welcomed a new Dentist to New Smile, and more Clinical Staff will be joining us throughout the year as we expand our General and Specialist Dental Services.Job Summary:The Dental Nurse/Receptionist is a vital member of our clinical team, ensuring the smooth operation of the practice and supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care. This role involves a blend of clinical chairside assistance and administrative tasks, requiring strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate demeanor.Key Responsibilities:Clinical Duties:· Provide chairside assistance to the Dentist during a variety of procedures, including preparing and passing instruments, suctioning, and preparing materials.· Prepare and sterilize treatment rooms and dental instruments according to strict infection control protocols.· Process dental radiographs (X-rays) under the Dentist's direction in our new AI assisted x-ray system.· Provide patients with pre- and post-operative instructions and education on oral hygiene.Administrative & Patient Care Duties:We have two experienced full time Administrative staff who will help you learn to use our Appointment/Patient Record System.· Welcome, comfort, and prepare patients for treatment.· Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, documenting treatment information on our Computer Patient record System (Aerona).· Schedule and confirm patient appointments, assisting with patient flow.· Manage inventory, order dental supplies, and ensure equipment is maintained.· Handle basic front office tasks such as answering phones and processing payments as needed.Required Skills & Qualifications:· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.· Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.· Compassion, patience, and the ability to put nervous patients at ease.· Proficiency with computers and willingness to learn dental practice software (Aerona).· Ability to adhere to all safety regulations.Preferred Experience & Credentials:· Graduation from an accredited Dental/General Nursing program.· 1+ years of experience in a dental clinic setting would be preferable, but not essential. We will provide training to new graduates.· Relevant certifications (eg Certified Dental Assistant, Radiography, CPR).· Experience with electronic medical records is preferableWork Hours & Benefits:· Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:30am to 5:30pm with 1hr for lunch. You will not be asked to work late evenings or weekends.
