Head of Security and Stock
Dunnes Stores is Ireland's leading retailer, positioned at the cutting edge of food and fashion retailing. We are Irish owned and operate over 130 stores across Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Spain, as well as a growing online store. Our guiding principle is to deliver good quality products at competitive prices.
This role was created within our Operations team. The Head of Security and Stock will implement our Stock and Security Strategy across Dunnes Stores' retail footprint, reporting directly to the Store Operations Director.
This role focuses on loss prevention policy development and execution, shrinkage performance, and people management, ensuring the security of Dunnes Stores Retail assets and the safety of employees and customers.
Key Responsibilities
1. We work with central operations and finance functions on stock and security best practice, resolving issues and delivering loss prevention initiatives and improvement programmes.
2. We design and implement an efficient retail stock take process.
3. We support regional teams in delivering loss prevention plans, working with store managers and management to target specific areas of concern.
4. We develop and implement a security and stock policy for the stores, ensuring its relevance to our current business approach.
5. We develop, implement, and communicate performance metrics or KPIs around security, shrink, and loss prevention.
6. We ensure Dunnes Stores security policies comply with statutory legal requirements and necessary paperwork is in place.
7. We act as the key contact with relevant authorities.
8. We manage security vendors, measuring and monitoring cost and performance.
Requirements
1. A loss prevention expert who works with teams to achieve agreed targets.
2. Strong analytical and project management skills.
3. A strong eye for detail, metrics-focused, and able to support and challenge when individuals are not following process.
4. Experience reviewing current processes and proposing improvement suggestions.
5. A strong network in the security industry and ability to leverage key contacts within local authorities.
6. Able to work independently and as part of a team.
7. A good communicator and listener who supports individuals to resolve their own issues first.
8. Strong relationship builder and ability to work in a matrix organization.
9. Focused on providing a safe shopping experience.
