NexVentur is seeking a Senior Site Engineer to join a Tier 1 building contractor on a modern commercial build in Waterford. Role and Responsibilities Lead and oversee all site engineering activities, ensuring works are set out accurately and in line with project requirements. Supervise and mentor junior engineers and trainees, providing guidance and technical support. Check and review drawings, plans, and specifications for accuracy and compliance. Co-ordinate with the Site Manager/Project Manager to ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Manage quality assurance processes, ensuring work is completed in accordance with specifications and industry best practice. Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and the design team to resolve technical queries. Take ownership of technical problem solving and provide engineering solutions to overcome on-site challenges. Maintain comprehensive site records including as-built drawings, quality control checklists, and progress reports. Oversee compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, leading by example on best practice. Skills and requirements Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. 5 - 7+ years experience in a Site Engineer role, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity preferred. Proven track record delivering large-scale commercial build projects, ideally with a Tier 1 contractor. Advanced setting out skills and proficiency with Total Station, GPS, and AutoCAD. Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with a collaborative and solutions-focused mindset. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. In-depth knowledge of Irish construction regulations, safety procedures, and quality standards.
