To support this launch, the EMEA Accounting team is recruiting for a Senior Financial Analyst, to support local statutory compliance and US GAAP reporting for our team in Cork.
Key job responsibilities
* Preparation of high quality financial statements across a range of accounting frameworks;
* Responsible for month end close activities including reviews, balance sheet reconciliations and analytics;
* Preparation of statutory trial balances including identification and posting of local GAAP adjustments;
* Supporting external audit process;
* Demonstrating strong technical accounting acumen to be able to conclude on accounting treatment for complex business related transactions;
* Business partnering with other Amazon teams, including Treasury, Tax, Public Relations, Transfer Pricing and Corporate Legal;
* Collaborating with global Accounting teams to identify opportunities for enhanced standardization;
* Being a strong team player, who can operate globally, cross-functionally and at all levels of the organization, taking ownership and demonstrating self-initiative.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience with accounting and financial reporting, preferably gained within a Big Four firm and/or a multinational organization;
* Certified accountant qualification (ACA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent);
* Proficient Microsoft Excel user.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Knowledge of IFRS or other accounting frameworks;
* Solid organizational skills along with an aptitude for information technology;
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills;
* Experience managing multiple projects with competing schedules;
* Excellent communication and organization skills, including the ability to anticipate, identify and communicate risks to leadership;
* Passion to continuously enhance processes and reduce manual efforts through automation or optimization initiatives.
