We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety professional to join our team in County Mayo. As a dedicated Health and Safety Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being of our employees and maintaining compliance with Irish health, safety, and environmental legislation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to influence and engage teams. A relevant Health and Safety qualification is essential, and previous experience in a health and safety role within the food manufacturing or FMCG sector is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop, Implement, and Monitor Health and Safety Policies: Design, implement, and maintain effective health and safety policies, procedures, and practices across the site.

* Ensure Compliance: Verify adherence to Irish health, safety, and environmental legislation.
">
* Risk Assessments and Audits: Conduct regular risk assessments, safety inspections, and audits, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
">
* Training and Development: Lead health and safety training sessions and toolbox talks for staff at all levels, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and safety awareness throughout the site.
">
* Incident Investigations: Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, producing detailed reports with recommendations for improvement.
">
* Liaison and Collaboration: Liaise with external bodies and regulatory authorities as required, fostering strong relationships and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Requirements:

* Relevant Qualification: Possess a relevant Health and Safety qualification (e.g., Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, NEBOSH Certificate, or equivalent).

* Previous Experience: Demonstrate previous experience in a health and safety role within the food manufacturing or FMCG sector.

* Strong Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage teams.

* Problem-Solving and Attention to Detail: Display strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex situations and implement effective solutions.
