Due to continued growth, new contracts and an extensive pipeline of work, one of Ireland’s top Civil & Marine Engineering Contractors are hiring a Senior Buyer/Procurement Manager. This is a full-time position based in Cork.Duties:Driving lowest costs and greatest value for the organisation including negotiation of supplier agreements, sourcing innovation and supplier relationship management.Point of contact and resolution for all issues relating to preferred suppliers.Anticipating, analysing and monitoring market and business needs.Design and deliver buying strategy reports, including recommendations based on commercial and technical factors.Respond to queries from site, estimating, finance and commercial departments.Ensure all data is accurately maintained to enable the business to rely on the information for decision making.Requirements:Experience in a similar role within the construction industry is required, preferably in the Civils sector.Possess strong business/commercial acumen allied with the ability to see bigger picture.Strong analytical and reporting skills, with a keen eye for detail.Proven experience at delivering strong business results including through negotiated agreements.Ability to assess tenders and quotations from potential suppliers, identifying opportunities.Ability to meet deadlines, multitasking in a fast-paced environment.Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.Salary:Salary circa €75k – €85k DOEBenefits packageIf you are aSenior Buyer/Procurement Managerconsidering a career move, please feel to send yourCV or contact Lisa Cullen on 086-0119146 for a confidential discussion.GPC will not send any applicants CV’s to clients without a full discussion and prior consent.
