Key Responsibilities
Manage engineering projects from initial concept through design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
Develop and manage project scopes, specifications, schedules, budgets, and risk registers.
Ensure projects are delivered in line with agreed time, cost, quality, and performance targets.
Prepare technical evaluations and support tendering, contractor selection, and contract award processes.
Contractor management including site inspection and site supervision.
Review Method Statements and Risk Assessments and other H&S documentation required before work commences.
Contribute to review and upkeep of associated drawing and document management of projects.
Co‑ordinate the delivery of the project within the Hydropower stations and the interface between the contractor and the station staff.
Ensure all project activities comply with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality legislation, standards, and company procedures.
Actively promote and support a strong safety culture across projects and contractor activities.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or relevant discipline).
Strong understanding of project management principles.
Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and best practice.
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and report‑writing skills.
Strong IT skills (MS Office and engineering/project systems as applicable).
Knowledge of power generation, utilities, or similar regulated environments.
Qualifications
A full driving licence and access to a car.
Flexibility to travel nationally is a requirement of this role.
Base Location
ESB’s offices at 27 Fitzwilliam.
Business travel to site location for meeting and contractor management several days a week will form an essential part of this role.
The locations will include Hydro stations on the Liffey, Lee, Erne and Shannon.
