Senior Civil / Structural Engineer ( Design Office) Location:Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork Salary:€50,000 - €60,000 DOE Education:Third Level Engineering Qualification (Level 8 or higher) Type of Position:Permanent full-time position Experience:min 5 years The role: A Senior Civil / Structural Engineer to assist in the design, project management, supervision and monitoring of building and civil engineering projects. The role will involve working on a range of projects across various sectors including Residential, Commercial ( Office & Retail), Educational, Healthcare, Civic Buildings and occasionally civil engineering structures for both public & private clients Who you are: Candidates should be enthusiastic diligent team players who possess a strong technical knowledge of civil and structural engineering and the construction process. You should be willing to take responsibility and be comfortable working as part of a team. Excellent written and verbal communication in English is essential. Responsibilities: Carrying out the Civil & Structural Design of building structures to the Eurocodes using various materials. Preparing manual calculations as well as using software packages such as AutoCAD, Tekla Structural Designer, Robot and TEDDS. Provide interface with clients throughout the projects. Demonstrate a positive attitude to safety and to ensure the design team is active in this regard. Liaise with the design team to ensure that the overall project requirements are satisfied. Manage co-ordination meetings. Maintaining design folders. Communication with internal and external parties. Ensure that design is produced and that the design is regularly monitored for progress and updated as required. Manage change control (in conjunction with internal team) Deliver to cost in terms of design fee. Ensure that design is developed in line with procurement and construction requirements and the budget allowance. Undertaking site inspections as required under BCAR 2014 Report writing, must be proficient with the use of Microsoft Office. Review of Contractor and Design Team proposals Assisting in undertaking duties of the PSDP, Assigned Certifier and Ancillary Certifier roles. Qualifications/Experience required: A minimum 5 years experience in construction as a Civil/Structural Design Engineer. The candidate will ideally be Chartered or working towards Chartership. Proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD software. Previous experience in civil / structural engineering design and associated design software packages. Knowledge of building codes and industry standards. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
