Job Role Overview
This is a dynamic opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to join our organisation in Cork.
* Analyse technical drawings and documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates, negotiate with subcontractors, and generate accurate cost reports.
* Take measurements from drawings to create detailed bills of quantities (BOQ) for projects.
* Perform all quantity surveying duties, including measurements, valuations, and agreement of work sections.
The ideal candidate will possess 5+ years of mechanical QS experience, a degree in mechanical engineering or quantity surveying, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
This role requires adaptability and a willingness to travel throughout Ireland and the UK when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates by analysing technical drawings and documentation.
2. Negotiate with subcontractors to ensure optimal pricing and project outcomes.
3. Generate comprehensive cost reports to support project decisions.
4. Measure and quantify materials, labour, and equipment costs for projects.
5. Agree on work sections with contractors to ensure compliance with project requirements.
The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
