We are seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper to join a close-knit finance team based in East Cork. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the finance function. Key Responsibilities: Process invoices accurately and efficiently, including matching to purchase orders and delivery notes. Reconcile supplier statements to ensure accuracy of accounts. Prepare and process payment runs (BACS, cheque, etc.) in a timely manner. Allocate payments to supplier accounts. Handle supplier queries and resolve discrepancies. Assist in the preparation of VAT returns. Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of cash balances. Month-End Reporting including preparing accruals and reconciliations, G/L account reconciliation. Processing of payroll, including data entry, calculating deductions, and resolving payroll queries. Provide occasional support to the accounts receivable function Work closely with internal departments (e.g., purchasing, operations) and external stakeholders (e.g., suppliers) to ensure efficient processes and resolve any issues. Qualifications and Experience: Ability to work independently. Experience within a similar role is essential. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
