Role Overview We are seeking an experienced and organised Legal Secretary to join a busy legal practice in Carlow. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to solicitors, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the office while maintaining high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and client care.
Key Responsibilities
* Providing full secretarial support to solicitors
* Audio and copy typing of legal documents and correspondence
* Preparing briefs, pleadings, contracts, and court documentation
* Managing diaries, appointments, and court dates
* Handling client queries professionally, both in person and by phone
* Opening, closing, and maintaining client files
* Managing filing systems (electronic and manual)
* Assisting with billing, invoicing, and time recording
* Liaising with courts, counsel, and external parties as required
* Ensuring compliance with confidentiality and data protection requirements
Key Requirements
* 2–3 years' experience in a legal secretarial role
* Strong typing and document production skills
* Excellent organisational and time-management abilities
* High level of attention to detail and accuracy
* Professional telephone manner and strong communication skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and legal case management systems
* Knowledge of Irish legal procedures and documentation (desirable)
