Leadership Role for Distribution Centre Management
This is a pivotal leadership position responsible for the overall management of a high-volume distribution centre. The successful candidate will drive performance, ensure compliance, and deliver strategic business objectives across UK and Ireland freight operations.
Requirements:
* At least 5 years of experience in a senior managerial role within logistics, transport, or freight.
* Proven experience managing high-volume, time-critical operations.
* Ability to manage site finances and profit/loss performance.
* Deep understanding of transport legislation and compliance.
* Experience in express/road freight and cross-border logistics.
* Strategic thinker with strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Able to lead, engage, and develop high-performing teams.
Responsibilities:
* Provide strategic direction and leadership.
* Manage full site operations to ensure safety, compliance, and efficiency.
* Make strategic decisions impacting cost, revenue, and overall business performance.
* Build and maintain customer relationships.
* Oversee driver, vehicle, and site compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Lead customs clearance processes and cross-border operations.
* Plan seasonal peaks and optimize labour, stock, and transport resources.
* Analyse data and KPIs to improve delivery, turnaround times, and service levels.
* Promote a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and high performance.
* Develop and support team growth, engagement, and accountability.
