Overview
We’re seeking an experienced NPI Process Scientist for a 12-month onsite contract in Sligo to support the tech transfer of an innovative biologics lyophilized product. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge therapies and to work alongside a global team of experts in a state-of-the-art facility.
You will play a key role in shaping the manufacturing processes for clinical supply while driving technical excellence and compliance. This is the ideal role for someone passionate about lyophilization, NPI, and bringing innovative biologics to life.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support the development, scale-up, and transfer of biologics manufacturing processes, with a strong focus on lyophilized products.
* Troubleshoot process-related issues and provide expert technical input during execution.
* Conduct facility fit assessments, risk evaluations (e.g., PFMEA, EHS), and gap analyses for NPI projects.
* Monitor and analyze process data to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance.
* Prepare and maintain technical documentation such as batch records, protocols, and specifications.
* Collaborate closely with global cross-functional teams to drive product and process development.
* Lead or support investigations, change controls, and continuous improvement efforts.
* Train and supervise operations personnel on new process introductions and procedures.
* Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with cGMP, EHS, and regulatory standards.
* Contribute to cost-saving initiatives, cross-site projects, and operational improvements.
* Champion a culture of Right First Time, safety, and continuous quality enhancement.
Candidate Requirements
* Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline. Master’s degree preferred.
* Minimum 3 years’ hands-on experience in lyophilization within a pharmaceutical or biologics manufacturing environment.
* At least 3 years’ experience in tech transfers, NPI, or commercial product introductions.
* Strong understanding of fill-finish and aseptic processing.
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
* High attention to detail with a commitment to quality, safety, and compliance.
* Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and lead cross-functional teams.
* Knowledge of EHS regulations and safe work practices.
* Passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and team development.
