THE COMPANY:
Our client is a long-established and highly respected manufacturing business with a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and technical excellence.
Operating within a regulated environment, they continue to invest heavily in their laboratory and technical capabilities and are now seeking an Analytical Scientist & Laboratory Manager to take ownership of a modern, well-equipped lab facility.
THE ROLE:
As Analytical Scientist & Laboratory Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day operation and continuous improvement of the laboratory.
This is a hands-on role combining technical analytical work with laboratory leadership and people management.
You will oversee routine and non-routine testing of raw materials and finished products, ensure equipment calibration and method robustness, interpret and report analytical data, and maintain high standards of documentation in line with GLP and quality requirements.
In parallel, you will manage and develop the laboratory team, support internal stakeholders with technical insights, and contribute to R&D, regulatory, and quality initiatives.
This role will also involve interaction with internal and external stakeholders, including customer-facing activities such as laboratory tours and technical discussions during site visits.
THE PERSON:
We are looking to speak with candidates who can demonstrate: a BSc or MSc in Analytical Chemistry, Forensic Science, or a related analytical science discipline; proven, hands-on laboratory experience within an analytical or regulated environment (essential); strong understanding of analytical techniques (e.g. wet chemistry, NIR, with willingness to develop further skills such as LCMS / MS); experience working to GLP standards with a high level of attention to detail and documentation; previous experience leading or mentoring laboratory staff, or clear potential to step into a laboratory management role; strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with stakeholders in a customer-facing setting (including lab tours and on-site visits); and a proactive, improvement-focused mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
THE PACKAGE:
Salary €45,000 - €60,000 depending on experience; pension and benefits package; stable working hours (Monday-Friday); strong work-life balance; opportunity to progress within a growing technical organisation.
LOCATION:
South-East Ireland - commutable from Kilkenny, Carlow, Wexford, and surrounding areas.
