Dairy Farm Assistant
Location: South Kildare.
We are currently seeking an experienced and dependable Assistant Herdsperson / Farm Assistant to join a progressive dairy farm in South Kildare. This long-term position is ideal for someone with strong dairy farming experience, a passion for animal care, and the ability to confidently carry out day-to-day farm duties. The farm operates a rotary parlour, and experience working with large cow numbers in a commercial dairy setting is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Milking cows in a commercial dairy environment
Assisting with calf rearing and animal husbandry
Carrying out general dairy farm duties
Operating machinery and assisting with day-to-day farm operations
Maintaining high standards of animal welfare and farm hygiene
Candidate Requirements
Minimum 3 years dairy farming experience required
Must be confident milking cows and handling calves
Ability to competently carry out typical dairy farm activities
Full driving licence essential
Strong work ethic and ability to work independently
