Talent Acquisition Manager Location: Ireland Job type: Permanent Overview of role: The Talent Acquisition Manager is a pivotal strategic role within the UPMC Ireland HR function, responsible for shaping and executing a forward looking Talent Acquisition strategy that supports the organisation's mission of delivering Life Changing Medicine.
This senior role will champion the attraction, assessment and selection of exceptional healthcare and corporate talent across a rapidly expanding clinical a senior member of the HR Leadership Team, you will influence workforce planning, guide hiring strategy across multiple clinical specialties, and ensure UPMC Ireland maintains a robust talent pipeline aligned to future service growth.
You will partner closely with the Chief People Officer, Senior Regional HR Managers and HR Business Partners, Clinical Directors, and Operational Leaders to deliver a best in class recruitment service that supports safe, high quality patient in this role requires a deep understanding of healthcare workforce dynamics, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to operate with strategic foresight in a complex, fast paced clinical setting.
You will be the trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing insights on labour market trends, workforce risks, and innovative sourcing strategies for hard to fill clinical role demands a proactive, highly organised, and influential professional who can balance strategic leadership with operational excellence, ensuring seamless recruitment delivery across all UPMC Ireland facilities.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership & Workforce Planning Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive Talent Acquisition strategy aligned to UPMC Ireland's clinical and organisational growth plans.
Partner with senior clinical and operational leaders to understand workforce needs, identify capability gaps, and anticipate future talent requirements.
Provide expert guidance on healthcare labour market trends, international recruitment opportunities, and emerging workforce risks.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance recruitment processes, candidate experience, and hiring manager capability.
Team Management & Development Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Talent Acquisition team, providing coaching, feedback, and structured development plans to elevate capability and performance.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement, encouraging knowledge sharing and innovation in sourcing and hiring practices.
Act as an escalation point for complex hiring challenges, guiding the team through problem-solving and decision-making.
End-to-End Talent Acquisition Excellence Oversee full-cycle recruitment for clinical, allied health, and corporate roles, ensuring high-quality hiring outcomes and alignment with UPMC values.
Lead advanced sourcing strategies for specialist healthcare roles, leveraging professional associations, and targeted talent communities.
Ensure all vacancies are promoted effectively to attract diverse, high-calibre talent across multiple channels.
Manage the full selection process including screening, competency-based interviewing, and cultural alignment assessment.
Drive the offer and negotiation process in collaboration with the wider HR Team.
Healthcare Talent Strategy & Market Expertise Act as the subject matter expert for healthcare recruitment, advising leaders on best practices, competitive positioning, and talent availability.
Build and maintain strong relationships with universities, clinical training bodies, and international healthcare recruitment partners.
Support the design and delivery of graduate programmes to strengthen early-career pipelines.
Operational Excellence & Governance Lead the development and implementation of recruitment policies, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulatory requirements and UPMC standards.
Produce and analyse recruitment metrics to inform decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement.
Support onboarding process optimisation to ensure a seamless transition for new clinical and non-clinical employees.
Manage preferred supplier relationships and ensure agency partners deliver high-quality candidates in line with agreed SLAs.
Employer Brand & Talent Attraction Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to enhance UPMC Ireland's employer brand, particularly within the healthcare sector.
Represent UPMC Ireland at healthcare recruitment fairs, conferences, and professional events.
Promote UPMC's mission, values, and culture to position the organisation as an employer of choice in the Irish and international healthcare markets.
Qualifications & Experience: Minimum 8 years' experience in recruitment, with significant experience in healthcare talent acquisition.
Proven track record of recruiting for specialist clinical roles within public or private hospitals, private healthcare, or large healthcare systems.
Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders, including clinical leaders.
Demonstrated experience in workforce planning, talent strategy, and market analysis.
Advanced proficiency in sourcing tools including Linked In Recruiter, ATS platforms (Cornerstone or similar), and Boolean search.
Strong analytical capability with experience producing workforce insights, and talent reports.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Person Specification Qualifications Degree or Master's in Human Resources, Business, or related discipline.
Chartered CIPD membership is an advantage.
