It is also one of the most dynamic Alliance Française in terms of cultural events.AFD is a language school, an exams centre, a training centre for teachers, a cultural and intercultural institution with a library, a community of francophones and Francophiles in Ireland. More than 50 people work in Alliance Francaise Dublin from Monday to Saturday.In 2023 the Alliance had:· an annual turnover of € 1,500,000· 5600 enrolments, 3550 students, 1400 members and 30,000 followers on social media.· an attendance of over 10,000 people for our cultural and social eventsThe Purpose:· Supervise and conduct all tasks related to facility management· Ensure the smooth running of operation· Ensure the safety of the staff, student and visitorsReporting:The Maintenance Operator will report directly to the HR & Operations Manager.Key Areas of responsibility:– Security and Safetyo Walk through the building to check for any immediate maintenance issues or safety hazards.o Ensure all exits and emergency routes are clear and accessible.o Ensure all facilities comply with health and safety regulationso Conduct safety inspectionso Be responsible of the Burglar and Fire Alarm system, liaise with Chubb to manage the service and report any issueo Test fire alarms, emergency lighting, and other safety systems.o Conduct safety drills and checks to ensure staff are familiar with emergency procedures.o Maintain up-to-date records of compliance.– Cleaningo Keep basement and flat roof clean, swept and free from rubbisho Inspect and maintain outdoor areas, ensuring they are free of litter and debriso Keep steps clear of rubbish except when rubbish bags are left out for collectiono Ensure all waste is disposed of properly and recycling procedures are followed.o Keep pavement along by boundary wall free from weeds and rubbisho Empty the Archive room in the basement in order to create a theatre– Routine Maintenance:o Regular inspection and maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and structural elements.o Address minor repairs such as painting, replacing light bulbs, and repairing door handles.o Contact external contractors for major repairso Schedule and oversee any contracted maintenance services or repairs.o Update maintenance logs and records of completed tasks and repairs.o Meet with HR & Operations Manager to review the facility's maintenance status and discuss any upcoming needs or projects.– Support to organise our classes and eventso Assist in setting up and rooms for children classes, Library and Coffee space for events, install exhibitions– Inventory Management:o Keep track of maintenance supplieso Ensure that all necessary tools and materials are available and in good condition.o Report immediately if anything is misfunctioning or need to be adjustedSkills:· Experience in building maintenance,· be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a teamConditions:28:30 hours per week:From Tuesday to Friday 8h – 12hSaturday: 08h -17h30 (including a 1 hour break)Job Type: Part-timePay: €14.50 per hourBenefits:Additional leaveBike to work schemeCompany eventsCompany pensionLanguage:English (required)Work authorisation:Ireland (required)Work Location: In person
