Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Dysphagia Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals living with acquired brain injury by improving their speech, language, communication, and swallowing skills.
The Dysphagia Specialist will work closely with clients, families, carers, and other healthcare professionals to provide person-centred, goal-oriented care and rehabilitation. This will involve assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating treatment programmes according to professional standards and client needs.
In this role, you will be responsible for communicating results of assessments and recommendations to clients and relevant others as appropriate. You will also collaborate with clients, families, carers, and other staff in goal setting and treatment planning, providing support and information in relation to communication and/or feeding, eating, drinking, and swallowing disorders.
As part of our integrated package of care, you will participate in teams, communicating and working collaboratively with clients and relevant others to achieve optimal outcomes. You will also represent the department/profession/team at meetings and conferences as designated.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Proven experience in dysphagia assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
* Knowledge of current best practices in dysphagia management
