Environmental Impact Assessment Consultant
Responsibilities
* You will helping gather and validate information used in the Planning Permission process :
* Lead the (EIA) process for Renewable Energy projects, including (EIAR) & (AA/NIS).
* Provide environmental expertise to support the Planning Team & inform business strategy, ensuring compliance with planning and environmental regulations.
* Stay updated on changes in planning/environmental legislation, policies, & development plans. Contribute to company submissions as needed.
* Assist the stakeholder and advocacy team in developing communication & consultation plans with local communities & stakeholders.
* Prepare specifications for third-party services and assist in procurement processes.
* Ensure compliance with H&S & Environmental policies, & relevant EU & National regulations.
* Mentor and assist junior staff, particularly in EIA and AA processes.
* Participate in performance management to achieve team objectives.
Requirements
* Hons Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Postgraduate a plus.
* 5+ years’ experience leading EIAR & AA/NIS planning preparation for large-scale projects.
* Strong understanding of the EIA process & Irish planning policy/legislation is essential
* Experience in renewables or related infrastructure projects is desirable; technical expertise in disciplines like ecology, noise, or air quality is a plus .
* Experience with planning projects of varying priorities, risk profiles, & timelines is beneficial.
* You will need to have gained your experience in EIAR, AA/NIS within Ireland or the EU.
