Who We Are
Brothers of Charity Services Ireland offers a variety of residential, day, respite, assessment, and clinical services to individuals with varying degrees of intellectual disability.
Many of the people we support have additional needs, including autism, challenging behaviours, and physical or sensory disabilities.
Services and supports are provided to over 6,500 people, and their families, throughout Counties Clare, Cork, Galway, Kerry, Kilkenny, Limerick, Roscommon, Tipperary, Wexford and Waterford.

The Role
The Senior Social Worker will work as part of the Social Work Team for Adult Services within Brothers of Charity Southern Services.
The role involves supporting people to have opportunities for self-expression and to meet their needs in all aspects of life, empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to have dignifying relationships and be included meaningfully in the community.
The Senior Social Worker will adopt a multidisciplinary and unidisciplinary approach to assessing needs and supporting persons in residential and day services, and will provide mentoring and supervision to other Social Workers.
Candidate requirements
Eligible applicants must be registered or eligible for registration with the Social Work Register maintained by the Social Work Registration Board at CORU.
Have at least 3 years relevant post-qualification experience in disability or within a multidisciplinary team.
Have the requisite knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
Provide proof of statutory registration on the Social Workers Register before a contract is issued.
Demonstrate proven effectiveness as a professional Social Worker.
Additional requirements
Age
: The Public Service Superannuation Act, **** sets 70 years as the compulsory retirement age for public servants (with specified exceptions).
Health
: Applicants must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office, and in a state of health that indicates a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
Character
: Applicants must be of good character.
Driving
: Applicants must have a full driving licence which qualifies them to drive on Irish roads.
Salary Scale:
€70,980 – €81,874 per annum (Consolidated Salary Scales 1/8/25)
