About the Role
We design and build automation systems that keep food, beverage, and pharmaceutical production lines running at their best. From high-speed labelling systems to complex conveyor layouts, our work is varied, fast-moving, and always practical.
As a Design Engineer with us, you’ll see your ideas go from CAD screen to factory floor in a matter of weeks — giving you the rare opportunity to follow your designs through fabrication, installation, and commissioning. If you’re motivated by real-world impact, variety, and the chance to make a difference in a growing team, this role offers it all.
Responsibilities
* Design automation systems — with a focus on conveyors and labelling — using CAD or similar tools.
* Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) for procurement and assembly, keeping everything accurate and organised.
* Prepare technical drawings including fabrication drawings, 3D models, and concept sketches.
* Visit client sites to assess requirements, oversee installations, and validate your designs in action.
* Collaborate with clients — listening to needs, proposing solutions, and guiding technical discussions.
* Work closely with mechanical and electrical colleagues to ensure every design is practical, safe, and ready to build.
* Support project documentation including revisions and quality checks throughout the lifecycle.
Qualifications
* Essential: Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering (or strong proven experience).
Required Skills
* Experience designing automation equipment (e.g. conveyors, pneumatic systems, or mechanical machinery).
* Hands-on use of CAD in project environments.
* Solid understanding of mechanical and pneumatic principles (materials, tolerances, actuators, etc.).
* Confidence in client-facing tasks — from requirements gathering to technical discussions.
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to produce clean, accurate BOMs and documentation.
Preferred Skills
* Experience with conveyor design or system integration.
* Basic understanding of electrical controls/PLCs to collaborate with peers.
* Aware of health & safety regulations around mechanical design and installation.
Pay range and compensation package
* The chance to work on varied, challenging projects with real-world impact.
* Exposure to the full project lifecycle — from concept to commissioning.
* A growing company environment where your input shapes how we work.
* Clear opportunities to develop your skills and progress as the team expands.
