Excel Recruitment is actively looking for an Early Morning Chef in County Limerick.
Hours: 4:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Monday – Friday @ €22 per hour
Role Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Early Morning Chef to handle preparation of fresh ingredients and menu items ahead of service, while also assisting with the delivery of prepared goods to main service kitchen in Limerick city. This role requires strong organisational skills, the ability to work independently, and a full clean driving licence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare ingredients, sauces, and baked items to agreed recipes and quality standards.
2. Operate kitchen equipment safely and in accordance with HACCP guidelines.
3. Coordinate with the Senior Head Chef to meet daily prep schedules.
4. Ensure kitchen and prep areas are kept clean, sanitised, and well-stocked.
5. Load, transport, and deliver prepared goods to designated locations across County Limerick.
6. Check delivery quantities against orders and maintain accurate records.
7. Assist with stock rotation, receiving deliveries, and monitoring freshness.
8. Maintain high standards of food presentation and consistency.
Essential Requirements
9. Proven experience in a professional kitchen (breakfast, bakery, or prep experience advantageous).
10. Full, clean Category B driving licence.
11. Knowledge of HACCP and food safety practices.
12. Ability to work independently in early morning hours.
13. Good time management and organisational skills.
14. Physically fit to handle loading/unloading and kitchen tasks.
Desirable Skills
15. Formal culinary qualification (e.g., FETAC/QQI or equivalent).
16. Experience with bakery or pastry preparation.
17. Familiarity with local routes in County Limerick.
