Store Manager-Sandymount
Our client, a well-known retail not for profit organisation, is currently seeking a Garden Centre Manager for their store. This store management job is suited to a people-orientated retail manager with previous retail supervisory experience within a non-food or garden centre experience.
As Store Manager you will have strong commercial and operational retail experience, be hands-on, standards-driven and with a proven track record in delivering excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and develop the Garden Centre to meet work plans and financial targets.
2. Assist with recruitment, training, supervision, and management of staff and volunteers.
3. Deliver high-quality customer service, providing advice and guidance as needed.
4. Maintain attractive displays and merchandise the shop efficiently.
5. Care for plants, including watering, feeding, and planting.
6. Follow and implement the business trading plan.
7. Process and record stock orders in line with business needs.
8. Support service owners in their Garden Centre roles.
9. Promote teamwork by sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues.
Skills and experience:
10. Experience working in the retail sector at manager/supervisor level.
11. Ability to drive and achieve Sales Targets.
12. Strong Commercial experience.
13. Have significant interest in gardening.
14. Good IT Skills.
15. Excellent interpersonal and sales techniques.
16. Experience dealing with members of the public.
17. Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar type of role.
18. Experience of stock management procedures and systems.
