Job Title: Production (Plant) Manager Overview On behalf of our client, a leading player in the food processing industry, we are seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a high-performance food production facility. This is a critical leadership role requiring strong people management skills, operational excellence, and a deep understanding of food safety and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage production teams to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly output targets in line with business requirements. Drive operational efficiency through effective scheduling, resourcing, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure all production processes comply with food safety standards (HACCP, BRC, ISO) and regulatory requirements. Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and HR to ensure smooth plant operations. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as yield, waste, labour efficiency, and equipment uptime. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance across the production floor. Manage training and development of production staff, ensuring SOPs are followed and understood. Participate in audits and lead any required corrective actions or improvement plans. Implement and monitor Lean, 5S, or Six Sigma initiatives to drive productivity and cost savings. Champion sustainability, hygiene, and ethical manufacturing practices across the plant. Requirements Proven experience (5+ years) in a production management or supervisory role within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment. Strong working knowledge of food safety and quality standards, such as HACCP, BRCGS, or ISO 22000. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced production environment. Solid understanding of production planning, resource management, and continuous improvement tools. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Proficient in using ERP and production software systems (e.g., SAP, Sage, or similar). Relevant third-level qualification in Food Science, Engineering, Production Management, or similar discipline (advantageous).
