Overview
The Applications Engineering Department is responsible for designing and developing innovative solutions.
This position requires an individual who can identify new application opportunities and conceptualize ways to solve problems for customers.
Responsibilities include all activities related to selecting, specifying, and selling products and solutions.
Qualifications
Third-level degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required. 1-3 years of engineering experience are needed. Application Engineering skills with a track record of solving problems and working in cross-functional teams are essential. Proficiency in Solid Modelling software (Pro/E preferred) and Microsoft Office is also necessary. Experience with engineering tools such as SPC and Business software (ERP systems, JDE preferred) is desirable. Finite Element Analysis is beneficial. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interpret and communicate data accurately are required. Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications is necessary. Flexibility in schedule to allow for travel is a must.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, or improve fastening solutions for new and existing customers. Support sales activities with technical calls and visits. Coordinate testing for prototypes, pilot production, and final customer acceptance. Coordinate development activities within the business, including Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Sales & Marketing, Finance, and Installation equipment dept. Generate manufacturing costs and submit to the pricing coordinator. Provide technical support to customers/distributors and Regional Sales Managers. Coordinate, plan, and conduct training with new and key distributors and customers. Other duties include communicating with various stakeholders across the business and supporting the development of new products and solutions. This will involve providing technical support, coordinating testing and training activities, and communicating with stakeholders across the business.
