We are hiring a Staff Nurse; Pre-Operative Assessment Unit to a Hospital in Dublin, Ireland. Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborates closely with consultants, secretaries, the admitting department, and several ancillary departments to coordinate and administer pre-operative and procedural testing in order to support the delivery of expert clinical care to a primarily ambulatory patient population.
She or he will support ongoing staff, patient, and family education while working within the current nursing practice in compliance with NMBI guidelines.Contributes to the creation and execution of a pre-operative/procedural testing and evaluation program that includes documentation tools, patient care guidelines, and the reporting of aberrant lab results, radiographic readings, or ECG anomalies.Collaborates with ancillary departments, such as physical therapy, to plan pre-operative education.RequirementsCurrently registered with the Irish Nursing & Midwifery Board.Three years or more of post-registration experience working in an acute hospital Pre-operative testing certification or a postgraduate nursing education is desirable.
While not necessary, a management course is preferred.
Possess demonstrated clinical and professional managerial skills and effective communication abilities to interact with team members, consultants, general practitioners, and consultant secretaries.
