About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Hydrogeologist to join our team in Ireland. As a key member of the team, you will conduct hydrogeological assessments, manage groundwater resources, and support environmental impact studies.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct groundwater investigations, sampling, and data analysis using hydrogeological software such as MODFLOW and GMS.
* Develop and manage groundwater monitoring programs to ensure effective water resource management.
* Assess the impacts of developments on groundwater resources and provide recommendations for mitigation.
* Design and supervise the installation of monitoring wells to collect hydrogeological data.
* Prepare technical reports and interpret hydrogeological data to inform decision-making.
* Use modeling software to simulate groundwater flow and contaminant transport, and provide advice on groundwater management and remediation.
* Collaborate with colleagues to develop environmental impact assessments and risk assessments.
* Liaise with clients and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
* Perform fieldwork and adhere to health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
* A degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification is preferred.
* Professional experience in hydrogeology, with a strong understanding of hydrogeological principles and practices.
* Proficiency in hydrogeological software, including MODFLOW and GMS, and experience with GIS and data analysis.
* Strong report writing and communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
* Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
* A full driving license and willingness to travel for fieldwork, with occasional overnight stays.
