Chief Risk Officer (PCF14) Role Description

This role is responsible for:

* Protecting the credibility and value of EU-DAC through effective risk management aligned with the FNZ Group Risk Management Framework.
* Supporting the development of a strong risk culture within EU-DAC.
* Advising the Board on risk matters and providing independent 2nd Line challenge at Board, Committee, and executive levels, including oversight of risk mitigation plans.
* Managing the EU-DAC risk function to develop and deliver risk capabilities.
* Protecting FNZ's reputation with clients and regulators across EU-DAC and minimizing consumer harm.
* Adhering to the CBI's Conduct Rules and Fitness and Propriety Requirements, as this is a PCF 14 role.


Summary of Focus

Provide strategic and operational direction on risk matters, including:

* Implementing a robust 3 lines of defence model with senior management and Board.
* Maintaining effective 2nd line risk capabilities, frameworks, systems, and tools.
* Establishing a clear risk appetite and providing consistent risk reporting.
* Collaborating with the Group CRO to evolve the risk management framework for EU-DAC to meet expectations, regulatory scrutiny, and support growth.
* Supporting governance models to meet stakeholder and regulatory requirements and ensure fair customer treatment.
* Participating as a senior leader and supporting the CEO in strategy delivery.
* Delivering timely MI on risks and maintaining FNZ's reputation.
* Providing strategic direction with clear deliverables for the risk function.


Specific Responsibilities

Risk oversight including:

* Risk identification and assessment
* Development of risk frameworks, policies, and reporting
* Monitoring regulatory changes
* Oversight and challenge of risk profiles
* Coordination with Risk & Compliance teams globally

External Liaison

* Attending client risk committees
* Liaising with auditors and consultants
* Building relationships with CBI and regulators


Risk Officer Responsibilities for EU-DAC

* Owning the Risk Management Policy
* Implementing and monitoring risk frameworks
* Reporting to governance committees
* Providing independent challenge and oversight
* Overseeing regulatory capital documentation
* Ensuring risk management training and governance
* Maintaining knowledge of the regulatory environment
* Identifying and scoring risks, ensuring staff competence, and managing conflicts of interest
* Overseeing information security and business continuity functions


Performance Assessment

Performance measures will be set by the EU-DAC CEO and Group CRO.
