We're Hiring: Head Baker
Location: Cavistons Food Emporium, Glasthule, Co Dublin | Full-Time | Early Morning Shifts
Do you live and breathe the smell of fresh bread? Are you a passionate, skilled baker ready to lead a team and take charge of the bakery? We're looking for an experienced Head Baker to bring creativity, consistency, and leadership to our bakery.
About the Role:
As Head Baker, you'll be responsible for all aspects of bakery production—from mixing and shaping to baking and finishing. You'll lead a team of bakers, manage the daily baking schedule, and ensure every loaf and pastry meets our high standards for taste and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee daily production of all baked goods (breads, pastries, cakes, etc.)
* Train, supervise, and support the bakery team
* Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation of products
* Create new recipes and seasonal menu items
* Monitor ingredient inventory and place orders as needed
* Monitor pricing and cost of ingredients
* Ensure cleanliness and food safety compliance at all times
* Collaborate with the management team on scheduling, planning, and product development
What We're Looking For:
* 3+ years of experience in a professional bakery setting (leadership experience preferred)
* Strong knowledge of baking techniques, fermentation, and dough handling
* Passion for artisan bread and scratch baking
* Ability to lead a team and work early morning shifts
* Excellent time management and attention to detail
* Food Safety Certification (or willingness to obtain)
