The role of a Café Manager is to provide exceptional customer service and lead the standard of presentation in a unit.
This involves delivering operational standards to maximise sales and profitability while maintaining costs.
Key responsibilities include leading customer service, developing communication skills with senior management, providing fast, friendly, and efficient service, preparing food, setting up and merchandising counters, and taking responsibility for products from entry to exit.
An efficient cleaning schedule must be developed to ensure regular and systematic cleaning of equipment, adhering to hygiene and food safety standards.
Monitoring and delivering the HACCP programme is essential to ensuring food safety, food presentation, hygiene, and quality standards are met.
Product orders must be placed with agreed suppliers on a daily or weekly basis, and waste control is crucial in the unit.
Staff training is ongoing, with motivation and development of skills being key priorities.
A flexible work schedule should be planned to ensure job rotation and flexibility of staff, maximising their productivity.
Requirements
To apply for this role, you must have at least one year's experience in a similar environment, as well as experience with and training on HACCP.
* Experience managing a similar-sized restaurant or corporate catering unit
* Experience and training on HACCP and food safety
* An advanced level of English combined with a professional and polite manner
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong desire to work with coffee
* Flexibility to work five days over seven
