This is a new role offering an exciting opportunity to support the strategic clinical leadership across the range of services offered and shape high-quality mental health service delivery for people living with depression, bipolar, and anxiety.

About the role
Reporting to Aware’s Clinical Director (Senior Clinical Psychologist), key aspects of the role include (but are not limited to):
To ensure the clinical effectiveness of Aware counselling and psychoeducation programmes by supporting clinical audit and other service development activities related to the services.
To contribute to creating a psychologically informed framework of service delivery across Aware Services
To provide clinical consultation/guidance and, where required, clinical supervision to Aware clinicians and service managers
To undertake direct assessment and triage with new service users to the Aware Counselling Service, in line with best practice.
To hold a small caseload, offering brief psychological therapy to adults presenting with mild to moderate depression and anxiety
To conduct risk assessments and implement risk management plans as appropriate
To contribute to research in line with the Aware Research Strategy and overall objectives
To plan and deliver teaching and training on workplace mental health workshops in line with best practice and current evidence base.
To represent Aware in public, policy, and sector-wide mental health discussions.
To work with the communications department utilising the sector wide research / insights to inform our evidence-informed communications strategy
Support the Clinical Director in offering external-facing psychological leadership, specifically engaging state bodies and medical stakeholders to represent, promote, and advance Aware strategic objectives.
Essential Skills and Experience
Have an Irish post-graduate professional psychology qualification (Doctorate or equivalent) accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical or Counselling Psychology. Candidates qualified overseas must provide evidence of validation by the Department of Health at the time of application.
OR
Psychotherapist fully accredited by the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP) or the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP)
For psychologists, at least 5 years’ experience in professional psychology, with no less than 3 years spent in gaining the post graduate qualification and at least 1 year full time in post qualification experience as a professional psychologist.
For psychotherapists a minimum of five years post qualification/accreditation experience working in health and social care, therapeutic or related organisational settings supporting people with depression and anxiety
Commitment to evidence-based practice and client‑centred care.
Effective presentation and facilitation skills including the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner to a wide range of audiences
Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable with a wide range of IT systems.
Experience of the not-for-profit sector
Experience of delivering and evaluating brief therapeutic interventions
Interest in service development and creation of psychoeducational and therapeutic resources in mental health
Package
This is a permanent post.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The salary range for this role will be €52,000 – €60,000 pro rata (0.6 FTE / 22.5 hours per week)
