About the Role:
You will lead and manage our children’s residential home in Co Cavan, ensuring that the young people we support are cared for to the highest standards. Your integrated approach will enable young people to achieve positive outcomes and live their best lives.
This post requires you to work proactively with the Regional Director to contribute to the optimum delivery and development of our care services.
You will be required to promote a culture within our care service and all aspects of its work that is respectful, non-discriminatory and embracing of diversity.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* A minimum QQI level 7 qualification in social care and hold or be enrolled in a programme leading to a management qualification suitable for a health or social care setting and 4 years' full time work experience in a children's residential care setting post qualification.
* Excellent communication and report writing skills.
* A professional qualification in Social Work is also considered as suitable, for a Person in Charge with the requisite 4 years post qualification practice experience and hold or be enrolled in a programme leading to a management qualification suitable for a health or social care setting.

To be successful in this role, you must be able to take a lead role in agreement with the Regional Director for responding to referrals and assessing the child/young person's suitability for placement.
Other essential duties include:
* Ensuring that the admission of a child/young person is welcoming and reflects the expectations of the placement plan.
* Ensuring that each child's/young person placement follows their placement plan and that each child has an up to date individual care plan based on an assessment of their needs.
* Ensuring that the child/young person are informed of their rights and responsibilities enabling them to take greater control of their lives.
