The Talbot Hotel Midleton is looking to fill the position of Food & Beverage Supervisor. This is a full‑time salaried position, rostered for 39 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7. Ideal candidates will be flexible with working evenings and weekends in a busy 4‑star hotel. Reporting to the Food and Beverage Manager and the General Manager, you will assist in the smooth and efficient running of the hotel restaurant, bar and/or banqueting departments, ensuring profitable operation while complying with company standards and ensuring complete guest satisfaction at all times.
Main duties
Ensure smooth management of the food & beverage service in conjunction with the Deputy General Manager and supervisory team
Deal with situations and customer queries as they arise
Check and ensure adequate beverage and wine stock levels on a regular basis
Ensure all orders are taken accurately and serviced efficiently
Ensure all staff have sufficient knowledge of menus, beverages and service standards, identifying any training needs and conducting training when required
Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in all areas of the bar, restaurant & banqueting and related areas
Set up the restaurant, bar and/or restaurant prior to service, creating the right atmosphere
Assist in rostering staff accurately and effectively according to business requirements, monitoring these business levels daily
Supervise, control and monitor all staff on duty, ensuring all duties are carried out in accordance with company procedures
Provide a high standard of service and attention to detail within the hotel/department
Check the main safe at the beginning and end of each shift
Ensure all floats are accurate before giving to each department
Maximise staff productivity and encourage staff motivation by helping create a positive working environment
Handle customer complaints efficiently and professionally, notifying management
