Responsibilities - Fire Suppression SystemsResponsible for all aspects of the fire suppression disciplines on site including Inspections of Fire Protection, Fixed Extinguishing / Sprinkler systems. Production of Fire Suppression system design documents such as drawings, hydraulic calculations for all types of buildings, including but not limited to Residential, Commercial and Industrial Buildings, in accordance with BS9251, BS EN 12845, LPC rules, NFPA standards and FM Global data sheets. Fire safety and protection for all types of buildings, including a wide variety of occupancy types, in particular industrial facilities, commercial buildings, retail complexes, amongst others. Witnessing testing and commissioning of all fire suppression systems, carrying out regular site inspections during installation and for existing systems. Communicating with clients, architects, consultants from other disciplines, and approval authorities. What you will work on Plan and direct engineering activities for your own projects Take the technical lead role in projectsDesign fire suppression systems Prepare and present technical reports and presentations Responsibilities - Fire Alarm SystemsResponsible for the design, coordination and documentation of fire detection and alarm systems in compliance with statutory requirements, relevant British Standards and project-specific fire strategies. The role involves working closely with fire engineers, MEP designers, contractors and clients to deliver compliant, coordinated and buildable fire alarm solutions.What you will work on Design fire detection and alarm systems in accordance with BS 5839 (Parts 1 and 6), Approved Document B and project-specific fire strategiesDevelop fire alarm layouts, schematics and cause-and-effect matrices suitable for design and regulatory approvalProduce technical reports, specifications and design notesRespond to design queries, RFIs and technical clarificationsUndertake site visits to review installation progress against design intentSupport commissioning and testing activitiesAssist in resolving non-conformances and design changesRequirements and QualificationsBachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering or related fieldLPCB qualifications/BAFSA trainings, would be preferredExperience in code consulting and design of fire suppression/fire alarm systems, in a project design environmentChartered Engineer or working towards chartership Experience designing fire suppression/alarm systemsExperience in relevant engineering software such as hydraulic calculation software, AutoCAD, Revit and SprinkCAD etc. Training available as necessary.
