Procurement Manager Position
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced procurement professional to join our team on a full-time basis.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing mechanical components and equipment necessary for our operations. Your primary goal will be to ensure the availability of high-quality materials at the most cost-effective prices, while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.
You will collaborate with various departments, including engineering, estimating, surveying and construction operations, to understand their requirements and contribute to the overall success of the business.
Main Responsibilities:
* Supplier Management:
* Negotiate terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
* Monitor supplier performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
* Manage relationships with Mechanical component suppliers.
* Material Sourcing:
* Evaluate potential suppliers for quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
* Source and procure equipment and materials in accordance with project specifications and production requirements.
* Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends and pricing.
* Collaboration:
* Work closely with engineering, estimating, surveying and construction operations teams to understand project requirements and specifications.
* Provide input on design changes and alternatives to optimise costs.
* Cost Negotiation:
* Negotiate favourable terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings without compromising quality or delivery schedules.
* Analyse price proposals, financial reports, and other data to determine reasonable prices.
* Order Management:
* Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
* Track and expedite orders to meet production and project timelines.
* Risk Management:
* Maintain awareness of market trends, geopolitical events, and other factors that may impact the supply chain.
* Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Requirements:
* A minimum of 5 years' experience preferably within the Mechanical Sector.
* Excellent Computer & report writing skills
* Results Orientation
* Pharmaceutical procurement experience
* Commercial Acumen
* Excellent attention to detail
* Ability to work on their own initiative

* Innovate & improve processes
* Good knowledge of Mechanical Suppliers & Subcontractors
