Mechanical Equipment Specialist
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Equipment Specialist to join our team. As a Mechanical Equipment Specialist, you will be responsible for the decommissioning and commissioning of facilities equipment on both utility and process systems.
Responsibilities
- Support a wider multidisciplinary team of skilled technicians in decommissioning and commissioning activities.
- Generate and execute documentation to support decommissioning activities on live systems in line with site procedures.
- Create and execute commissioning documentation such as OATs and FATs (Operational and Functional Acceptance Tests).
- Work with operations and engineering teams to develop testing protocols and start-up procedures.
- Conduct QA/QC walks of mechanical systems and equipment, identifying punch list items and rectifying prior to start-up.
- Commission mechanical equipment such as pumps, fans, motors, compressors, boilers, chillers, and air handlers.
- Maintain all documentation in an organized and controlled manner, in compliance with client procedures.
- Attend daily meetings and provide status updates.
- Possess excellent trouble shooting and problem-solving skills, posing no risk to health and providing no potential risk to any systems.
- Demonstrate ownership and show initiative to resolve issues in a timely manner in a high-paced, schedule-driven environment.
Skills Required
- At least 2 years industry experience with a maintenance background.
- Working knowledge of industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems and equipment, including fans and pumps, and be knowledgeable in the operation of such systems.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Literacy in Computer Operating Systems and applications such as Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, etc.
- Excellent communication/documentation and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility and accountability.
