Successful candidates will initially be assigned to one of the teams on the basis of current business needs.About the RoleResearch Ireland is now seeking applications for a Communications and Marketing Executive to join its Corporate Communications Team. This is a unique and extremely exciting career opportunity for a suitably qualified communications professional to join the recently established agency at exciting stages of its journey to support all aspects of communicating and promoting Research Ireland.The Corporate Communications Team has responsibility for the design, development, and delivery of Research Ireland's marketing and communications strategy. The division plays a key role in driving engagement with stakeholders, nationally and internationally and raising the profile of Ireland as a location for excellent and impactful research and innovation.Key responsibilities:Work collaboratively to support the implementation of Research Ireland's new branding, both internally and externally.Work across internal teams to define their marketing and communications requirements and develop communications plans in collaboration with teams to reach target audiences.Liaise with research funded awardees at various stages to develop story ideas and to promote their research.Coordinate events as required, such as photo-ops, launch events, workshops, and flagship activities with key stakeholder groups.Research and write regular news releases for regional, national, and international distribution related to research and innovation supported by Research Ireland.Work in partnership with communications offices of government departments, state agencies, and academic partners.Determine efficient and effective channels for delivering the messaging to the respective audience.Draft and publish key reports and marketing materials, including annual reports, and corporate presentations (infographics, case studies, video testimonials, presentations, etc.) to promote projects and programmes.Engage with external suppliers (designers, event management companies, etc.) as required to deliver high quality communications.Evaluate the impact and effectiveness of material produced, provide feedback to teams, etc.Undertake additional tasks that may be required to support Research Ireland's overall communications requirements.Essential criteria:A degree in a relevant marketing/communications discipline is desired for the role.A minimum of 3 years' experience.Strong communications and editorial skills.Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.Experience managing a range of projects simultaneously is essential, with the ability to deliver to deadlines.Previous experience in managing external suppliers and budgets.Experience in using web CMS, video editing, and graphics tools is an advantage.Experience in developing engaging content and implementing marketing campaigns, including dealing with complex topics.Experience in dealing with complex topics.Key Competencies:Communications & InfluencingStakeholder & Client ServiceInitiative and CreativityProblem Analysis & ResolutionPersonal EffectivenessTeamworkTechnical KnowledgeApplication Process:To apply for this post, applicants must submit a cover letter demonstrating how the applicant meets the requirement for this role (maximum of two pages) as set out in the job specification together with an up-to-date CV. This salary will rise over time, as per the salary scale detailed below.Salary scale: €52,026 - €74,725 per annum with contributory superannuation (pension).Government policy continues to be that starting pay on recruitment from open competition for all posts within the public sector should be at the minimum of the relevant salary scale and are not subject to negotiation.
