The primary purpose of this newly created position is to assist the EMEA Tax team on all tax related matters across EMEA, including direct tax compliance, US GAAP reporting, M&A, transfer pricing, dispute resolution and ad hoc tax consulting matters. Additional responsibilities include working on cross‑functional and special projects.
This role is an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience dealing with a range of international tax issues. You should be a natural problem‑solver, resourceful, proactive, able to escalates issues, and willing to ask for help. The right person will be comfortable working on competing priorities in a fast‑paced, dynamic setting while interacting with teams across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Tasks And Responsibilities
 * Assist in the analysis of the company’s income tax provision across several EMEA jurisdictions for US GAAP and local GAAP financial reporting
 * Oversight and management of direct tax filings and payment obligations across several EMEA jurisdictions
 * Assist with the preparation of transfer pricing documentation and related matters
 * Assist with the provision of information to internal and external auditors
 * Work with the EMEA tax team to manage and respond to tax authority interventions across various jurisdictions
 * Support the EMEA tax team on special projects including M&A and expansion into new jurisdictions
 * Develop and maintain successful relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including tax authorities
 * Provide tax advice to stakeholders across the business on a range of tax related matters
Role Requirements & Skills
Qualifications / Education
 * Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, finance or law from an accredited college/university
 * Licensed CPA/CA/CTA or similar
Experience
 * Minimum three years international tax experience in industry or in a public accounting firm
 * Insurance industry experience is an advantage but not essential
 * Experience and knowledge of tax reporting within the framework of U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS financial reporting is desired but not essential
 * While primarily a direct tax role, the ability to identify indirect tax and employee tax issues is important given the coverage of this role
 * Ability to research and apply tax law to business transactions and strong project management skills
 * Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
 * Possess strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
