Senior Construction Manager Role Overview


The Senior Construction Manager will oversee the Pre-Construction phase of projects, ensuring all activities are planned and executed efficiently. This senior leadership role requires expertise in strategic project pitches, client expectations, and team management.


Main Responsibilities:



* Lead the preconstruction team to accomplish contract requirements

* Define roles and responsibilities for the preconstruction services team

* Contribute to the development of industry standards and best practices

* Collaborate with clients to understand unique requirements and co-create tailored solutions

* Conduct quality assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential challenges during the pre-construction phase

* Advocate for sustainable and environmentally responsible practices

* Identify and assess relevant risks associated with pre-construction activities

* Contribute to value engineering and alternatives in proposals

* Maintain and expedite pre-construction practices and services

* Coordinate with Estimating department staff on project budgets and estimates

* Oversee preparation of materials presented to owners, architects, or engineers

* Ensure proper turnover of projects from Preconstruction and estimating to operations

* Stay updated with the latest construction technologies and methodologies



Key Qualifications:



* Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, quantity surveying, or a related field

* Extensive experience in pre-construction management with an established building contractor

* Large-scale multi-sector project experience

* Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices

* Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities

* Strong leadership and team management

* Strong understanding of relevant building regulations, codes, and legislation

* Innovative mindset with confidence to challenge current methodologies
