Role Summary
Under guidance from the head office creative team, lead the execution of all visual projects in store, delivering an inspiring, dynamic, and entertaining customer store experience. Collaborate with the display coordinator to deliver seasonal layouts and display schemes that set high standards for creative excellence. Support the communication and execution of these schemes across the district.
What You'll Be Doing
1. Interpret company direction and current fashion trends to create market-specific visual merchandising solutions that support sales.
2. Seek outside inspiration and apply personal talent to develop unique display concepts.
3. Lead and collaborate with the store manager, display coordinator, and other creative team members to execute projects innovatively and timely.
4. Manage the delivery of seasonal display concepts through effective planning, detailed mapping, and timely execution.
5. Communicate seasonal set-ups through photo layouts submitted quarterly, with guidance from district creative and partnership with the display coordinator.
6. Implement all visual merchandising initiatives, window schemes, and styling directions according to company standards.
7. Share merchandising concepts, initiatives, and trends with store teams via meetings, walkthroughs, and inspiration boards.
8. Inspire team members by sharing ideas and pertinent information from Head Office.
9. Delegate projects effectively, allowing team members creative freedom to succeed.
10. Coach team members on merchandise placement, standards, promotions, markdowns, and business analysis.
11. Facilitate efficient shipment processing to maximize sales.
12. Maintain organized office, signage storage, and fixture areas.
13. Uphold mystery shop standards and strive to meet company-average results.
14. Build community relationships reflecting urban culture.
What You'll Need
1. Proven success in driving sales through visual presentation and business acumen.
2. An understanding of Urban Outfitters' culture and appeal to the local market.
3. Effective communication skills at all levels and strong organizational abilities.
4. Project and time management experience.
5. Willingness to travel and spend time away from a home store.
6. Retail management experience with interests in fashion, art, or music.
