Location: Dublin (North-West Area) Employment Type: Full-time Salary: €40,000 - €45,000 Overview We are seeking an experienced and motivated Ocean Freight Agent to join a leading global logistics organisation.
This role is central to ensuring the timely and accurate movement of international freight while maintaining exceptional customer service standards within the Ocean Export team.

________________________________________ Role Purpose To ensure the efficient, compliant, and customer-focused handling of all ocean export shipments, including documentation, coordination, tracking, and communication with customers and overseas partners.
________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Operational Execution *Manage the smooth and timely flow of freight through the export process.
*Accurately enter shipment data into internal operational systems.
*Track and trace all ocean export files and provide timely reporting.
*Monitor shipments to ensure adherence to both internal and external compliance requirements.
Process & Compliance *Maintain up-to-date knowledge of departmental process flows and contribute to improvements in workflow and productivity.
*Ensure all customer-specific SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) are current and correctly documented.
*Ensure activities comply with relevant government and industry regulations.
Communication & Customer Service *Provide professional, prompt communication with customers, carriers, and overseas offices.
*Manage internal and external email queries with timely responses.
*Escalate issues or irregularities to management as needed.
________________________________________ Qualifications & Experience *6-12 months of related experience in freight, logistics, or a similar operational role (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
*Understanding of ocean freight documentation is highly desirable.
*Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely.
*Highly organised, proactive, and detail oriented.
*Solid computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word.
*Hazardous Materials certification is advantageous.
*Fluent English required.
